Helping people perform under pressure when life gets hard.
Helping people perform under pressure when life gets hard.
Helping people perform under pressure when life gets hard.

I help people perform under pressure when life gets hard.
I’m a President in Manufacturing, Performance Leader, and Founder of Forged Optimism.
For years, I’ve worked in environments where deadlines don’t move, responsibility doesn’t pause, and results matter. My experience has been built through real-world leadership—making difficult decisions, solving problems, developing people, maintaining accountability, and continuing to perform when pressure is real.
Along the way, I became fascinated by a simple question:
Why do some people stay steady under pressure while others fall apart?
That question led me to spend years studying leadership, discipline, accountability, resilience, and personal growth through continuous learning and practical experience.
What I’ve learned is that pressure reveals preparation.
The routines we build create discipline.
Discipline builds confidence.
And confidence allows us to stand on our decisions when pressure arrives.
Confidence is often built long before the difficult moment. Every time we keep a promise to ourselves, complete a responsibility, engage a challenge, or make the disciplined decision, we build trust in ourselves.
Over time, that trust becomes confidence.
I’ve also learned that discipline beats motivation, small battles decide big outcomes, and challenges can become opportunities for growth when we are willing to engage them.
And when circumstances are outside our control, our energy is better spent focusing on what still belongs to us:
Our preparation.
Our decisions.
Our actions.
Our response.
What I’ve seen over and over again is this:
Most people don’t lose in one big moment.
They lose in a thousand small ones.
A missed opportunity.
A difficult conversation avoided.
A responsibility left undone.
A decision continually pushed off.
A moment when pressure becomes real and they stop showing up fully.
Those observations became the foundation of Forged Optimism—a practical framework built around perspective, preparation, and personal responsibility.
Through The Lens of Strength, The Daily Forge, and Personal Power, Forged Optimism gives people a practical way to evaluate difficult situations, prepare for pressure, take responsibility for their response, and determine what they can do next.
Today, I use that framework through Forged Optimism Live, one-on-one Pressure Sessions, and conversations centered on leadership, discipline, accountability, decision-making, and personal growth.
My goal isn’t to pretend I have every answer.
It’s to help people slow the situation down, see it differently, identify what they can control, prepare for what comes next, and continue moving forward when pressure is real.
Because life gets hard.
Pressure shows up.
Responsibility doesn’t go away.
But confidence, resilience, and performance aren’t built in one big moment either.
They’re built in a thousand small ones.
One decision.
One habit.
One act of discipline.
One challenge engaged instead of avoided.
One promise kept to yourself.
One moment where you choose to stay steady when pressure arrives.
That’s what Forged Optimism is about.
Helping people perform under pressure, stay steady, and win the small battles that shape their lives.

Conversations and Practical Guidance for Performing Under Pressure
Forged Optimism was built around a simple reality:
Life gets hard. Pressure shows up. Responsibility doesn't go away.
I'm Spencer Kirtley, a President in Manufacturing, Performance Leader, and Founder of Forged Optimism. For years, I've worked in environments where deadlines don't move, responsibility doesn't pause, and results matter.
Along the way, I became fascinated by a simple question:
Why do some people stay steady under pressure while others fall apart?
That question led to Forged Optimism—a practical framework built around perspective, preparation, and personal responsibility.
Forged Optimism is designed to help people think more clearly, respond more intentionally, and perform when pressure is real.
The framework is built around three pillars:
The Lens of Strength — Perspective
How you view the situation affects how you respond to it.
The Daily Forge — Preparation
Discipline, repetition, and preparation build confidence before pressure arrives.
Personal Power — Responsibility
You may not control what happened, but you are responsible for how you respond and what you do next.
Conversations on Performing Under Pressure
Forged Optimism Live is a livestream built around practical conversations about leadership, discipline, accountability, resilience, decision-making, preparation, and the skills required to perform under pressure when life gets hard.
Rather than simply talking about motivation, Forged Optimism Live focuses on how the framework can actually be applied to real situations.
Topics include:
Forged Optimism Live is also an opportunity to watch the framework develop and work in real time through practical examples, submitted questions, leadership situations, and conversations about pressure.
Every Other Wednesday at 7:00 PM Eastern
Sometimes you don't need another general message.
You need to work through your specific situation.
Forged Optimism Pressure Sessions are private, one-on-one Microsoft Teams conversations designed for people who are facing a real challenge and want a practical way to think through it.
You bring the situation.
It could be:
Together, we'll slow the situation down and run it through the Forged Optimism framework.
The Lens of Strength
How are you viewing the situation? Is that perspective helping you move forward?
The Daily Forge
What preparation, habits, discipline, or repeated behaviors matter here?
Personal Power
What can you control? What can't you control? How do you respond, and what is your next move?
The goal is not for me to tell you how to live your life.
The goal is to help you look at the situation more clearly, challenge your current perspective when necessary, identify what is actually within your control, and leave the conversation with a more practical next step.
Bring me the problem. We'll run it through the framework.

This isn't about hype.
It isn't about pretending life is easy.
It isn't generic motivation.
And Pressure Sessions are not therapy or a replacement for professional medical, mental health, legal, or financial services.
Forged Optimism is about learning how to:
Prepare before pressure arrives.
Stay steady when it does.
Control your response.
Take responsibility for your next move.
Protect what matters.
Stand on your decisions when pressure is real.
Whether you join the conversation through Forged Optimism Live or bring your own situation to a 1-on-1 Pressure Session, the objective is the same:
Turn the framework into something you can actually use.
